WHAT BRINGS ADULTS IN

Complaints we see most

Common reasons adults book a first visit. A visit starts with an exam, and it may end with a referral when your doctor finds something we do not treat.

  • Back pain that keeps coming back

An ache that returns between visits to other providers. We look at how you move, sit and stand, and explain what we find.

  • Stiffness in the neck or back

Hard to turn your head fully or bend comfortably. We examine the joints and the muscles around them and explain your options.

  • Posture that has changed

Shoulders rounding forward and your head leaning ahead of your body after years at a desk. We measure it and show you what you can change.

  • Tingling or numbness

It can have many causes. We examine you, and we send you to a physician first when the signs call for it.

  • Care that has not held

You have tried other care and still have the complaint. Tell us what you tried, and bring your records.

  • Slower to recover

Training or a physical job leaves you sore longer than it used to. We look at how you move under load and give you exercises.

SERVICES

How we care for you

Every visit starts with an exam, and your doctor explains the options, the risks and the cost before care begins.

Corrective adjusting

A hands-on or low-force instrument technique that moves a joint of the spine, hips or shoulders, for adults whose complaint seems to follow how they hold or use their body.

What a visit includes
A clinician in a white coat points to a spine X-ray held up to the light

Spinal decompression

Time on a table that gently stretches the spine in set cycles, for adults whose exam shows it may suit them.

What a visit includes
A practitioner stretches the arm and wrist of a patient lying on a treatment table

Soft tissue work

Hands-on work on the muscles and connective tissue around your spine, hips and shoulders, often alongside an adjustment.

What a visit includes
A practitioner rests her hands on the shoulders of a man bending forward to check his posture

Posture and movement review

A close look at how you stand, sit, lift and move, for adults who work at a desk or on their feet.

HOW WE WORK

Depth over repetition

We look at the whole spine and how you use it, not only where it hurts. Your doctor tells you what the exam shows, what the options are and what each one involves.

  • Look at the pattern

We look at how your spine, hips and shoulders work together, not only at the sore spot.

  • An exam before treatment

A history, a physical exam, and posture and movement checks. X-rays only when your doctor finds they are medically necessary.

  • Your plan, your pace

Your doctor sets a plan after the exam and reviews it with you as you go. You can say no to any part of care, or stop, at any time.

FAQ

Common questions

Plain answers before your first visit.

01What happens at my first visit?

You talk with Dr. Masri about your history and what you want from care. Then he examines how you stand and move, checks your joints and reflexes, and explains what he found and what the options are. Plan on about 90 minutes. X-rays are taken only when they are medically necessary, and care starts that day only if you agree.

02Is chiropractic care safe?

Most people have no problems, and some feel sore or stiff for a day or two afterward. Serious problems are rare but have been reported, including injury to a disc, a nerve or, after neck adjustments, a blood vessel in the neck. Dr. Masri explains the risks of each option before you decide, uses low-force methods when you ask, and sends you to a physician first when your history or exam calls for it.

03Will it hurt?

Adjusting usually feels like pressure and a movement in the joint, and you may hear a pop. Soreness afterward is common and short. Tell Dr. Masri if anything hurts at any point and he will stop or change what he does. Low-force options are available.

04How many visits will I need?

We can't tell you before the exam, and we do not sell a set number of visits. After the exam Dr. Masri suggests a plan, explains why, and reviews it with you as you go. You can stop at any time.

05Do you take my insurance?

We bill most PPO plans and some employer plans, and our front desk checks your benefits before your first visit. What a plan pays differs from plan to plan. Our How fees work page explains insurance, Medicare and paying yourself.

06Do I need X-rays?

Not always. X-rays are taken only when Dr. Masri finds they are medically necessary, and he tells you why before they are taken. If you have recent imaging, bring the reports.

Ready for a first visit?
