FAQ

Common questions

Plain answers before your first visit.

01What happens at my first visit?

You talk with Dr. Masri about your history and what you want from care. Then he examines how you stand and move, checks your joints and reflexes, and explains what he found and what the options are. Plan on about 90 minutes. X-rays are taken only when they are medically necessary, and care starts that day only if you agree.

02Is chiropractic care safe?

Most people have no problems, and some feel sore or stiff for a day or two afterward. Serious problems are rare but have been reported, including injury to a disc, a nerve or, after neck adjustments, a blood vessel in the neck. Dr. Masri explains the risks of each option before you decide, uses low-force methods when you ask, and sends you to a physician first when your history or exam calls for it.

03Will it hurt?

Adjusting usually feels like pressure and a movement in the joint, and you may hear a pop. Soreness afterward is common and short. Tell Dr. Masri if anything hurts at any point and he will stop or change what he does. Low-force options are available.

04How many visits will I need?

We can't tell you before the exam, and we do not sell a set number of visits. After the exam Dr. Masri suggests a plan, explains why, and reviews it with you as you go. You can stop at any time.

05Do you take my insurance?

We bill most PPO plans and some employer plans, and our front desk checks your benefits before your first visit. What a plan pays differs from plan to plan. Our How fees work page explains insurance, Medicare and paying yourself.

06What if I do not use insurance?

You have the right to a Good Faith Estimate if you do not use insurance. We give you a written estimate in advance, and the front desk gives you our fee list. After each visit we can print an itemized receipt, in case your plan reimburses care outside its network.

07Do I need X-rays?

Not always. X-rays are taken only when Dr. Masri finds they are medically necessary, and he tells you why before they are taken. If you have recent imaging, bring the reports.

08Can I bring my child, or come while pregnant?

Our care is built for adults, and we do not examine or treat children. If you are pregnant, tell us when you book. Dr. Masri explains what we can do and what we do not claim, and may suggest you speak with your obstetric provider first.

09What if I have seen another provider?

Tell us what you tried and what you were told, and bring any reports you have. Dr. Masri works alongside your other providers and sends you back to a physician when your exam calls for it.

10What is the cancellation policy?

Please call at least a day ahead when you can. The front desk tells you our cancellation policy when you book, so there are no surprises.
